WINGS at Local Hospitals
WINGS Medical Advocates work on-site to provide bedside crisis intervention services to patients that have been identified as experiencing domestic abuse. Advocates are available to provide support to victims onsite and to help them understand how to begin formulating a safety plan. They can also help connect victims to resources such as counseling services, legal advocacy, and emergency shelter. The agency’s Hospital Program operates out of four hospitals in Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs: Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights; Ascension Health St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates; and Ascension Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Services are also offered at Ascension Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and UIC, UI Health in the City of Chicago.
